We just got in three new colors in the protec classic helmets. The classic bucky in clear white, the classic in matte grey, and my new favorite, the classic in clear blue. Check them out, then come in and pick some up.
See that sharp bike under Cadel Evans in the Tour? Now you can get it at Bicycle Bananas.
We are excited to add BMC to our line of bikes. Currently we have a Pro Machine and Team Machine frame in stock, as well as a Road Racer complete bike. They are great looking bikes, come check them out!
Come down and try out Ibis bikes on June 29th. Bikes will be available at the shop during the day, then at the Tues Night Ride (softball field parking lot on Virginia st, just north of McCarran).
Bicycle Bananas is now an Ibis Dealer!
We’ve been a big believer in the DW Link suspension system. It makes for a bike that is supple and still pedals great. The Ibis Mojo features 5″ of DW Link suspension – a great setup for the Reno/Tahoe area trails. We just got a Small, Medium and Large in. Come down and check them out!
We have opened up our new location in Susanville, California. This is great news for all our Northern California customers. It’s a small shop, but we will have a wide variety of bikes and merchandise. Plus, we’ll have a complete service department to take care of all your bike repair needs!
The Rock-n-River Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k races are once again gearing up to produce their 3rd Annual event. Record numbers of athletes are expected and volunteer race crew members that provide traffic control and security along the race course are critical to the success of the events.
This year the race crew Bicycle Team has been enlarged and emphasized to enhance the quality and safety of all the activities. An organized group of 8 bicycle riders will lead, monitor and follow all three runs joining a group of over 50 marshals that will be on foot.
They need 8 bicycle riders to volunteer for this group. It should be lots of fun and a worthy contribution to events in Reno and our local economy. A few “foot” race crew members are still needed too. If interested, please contact Catherine at 846-0706 or catemcf14@aol.com .
All race crew members will enjoy a nice dinner at the El Dorado Friday night at 6pm/mandatory, race crew t-shirt, and a personal name badge. Transportation for foot crew to and from the traffic support positions will be provided. All crew members will also receive a safety vest and complimentary food and beverages on race morning. Check-in time is 5:45am on Sunday, May 2nd, on Virginia Street under the Reno Arches for the foot group (look for the tent that says “Command Center”). Bicycle Team members will report 30 minutes before the event they are assigned.
We hope to put 2-3 bicycle riders with each race ( full marathon, half marathon, and 10k). The races will start in waves, with the marathon going at 6:30am, followed by the half at 7:00am, and finally the 10k at 7:30am. The 10k and possibly the half marathon riders will probably help with the kids race after their events and then may continue to support the marathon. All riders are also welcome to come early if they like.
